Ganessan has over 30 years of Experience in Sales and Marketing specializing in Global Sales and Revenue Generation. 20 years of which was with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Stamford Hotels and Marriott International. He was part of an exciting Pre-Opening Sales Team with Luxury Hotels Four-Season Singapore and Park Hyatt Melbourne. Then another 12 years directing and leading satellite offices with one the leading Independent Hotel Companies, WorldHotels. Having worked in Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, London (UK & Ireland), Nordics and Russia, both on property as DOSM and as Regional Director within Global Sales, Ganessan thrives in mentoring his associates and crafting creative events for his clients.  More recently he lead 6 regional sales offices in Asia Pacific.

 In his very recent role as Regional Vice President, Sales - Asia Pacific for WorldHotels, he was responsible for providing strategic business leadership and direction to my Regional Sales Teams based in Australia & New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, India, Hong Kong and China. He was also responsible for driving the core revenue generating services for member independent and luxury hotels including propriety distribution channels, trade shows, regional meetings, consortia partnerships, brand campaigns as well as managing hotel relationships and industry networks. In addition to this role, Ganessan also developed new and maintained close relationships with key Consortia partners, major corporate clients, key corporate & leisure agents, major OTA partners and GDS suppliers that benefited WorldHotels and its member hotels. Being in a leadership and supervisory role, he also constantly reviewed existing processes, optimised and implemented structures and processes with corporate approval to drive goals and achieve results. 

Together, Ganessan and his team were responsible for building and maintaining long-term, value-based business-to-business relationships between their Luxury and Independent properties and their industry clients and stakeholders. Focusing on sales and brand awareness for the truly Independent Hotels, his goal was also to drive and deliver beyond expectation a successful acquisition, retention and development customer plan covering all segments and markets and in turn achieving above industry results for stakeholders and member hotels.

 

A total professional and an accomplished industry veteran well respected by his peers, colleagues and clients. 

Now Ganessan heads GSA Hospitality which is an Australian and New Zealand Sales Representation company of Luxury and Independent Hotels and Resorts.

 Deb brings a wealth of experience focusing on the Meetings and Events Industry. Deb's expertise with the Incentives and Associations markets also compliments her role in sourcing for key businesses for our hotel partners and clients. Her working knowledge of groups and conferences will benefit in bidding the right business and match them with the respective clients. 

  

Deb's recent roles have been with Destination Rotorua Tourism and World Corporate Travel as MICE Business Development Manager. She now joins GSA Hospitality to be the Australian and New Zealand Global sales representation team for Luxury and Independent hotels, lodges and resorts. 

  

Deb having worked in both Australia and New Zealand, now resides in New Zealand and loves travelling and exploring new and unique destinations.

Jan brings a wealth of experience within the travel and hospitality industry. Her expertise is in Incentives and Groups. Jan's expertise with the Incentives and Associations markets also compliments her role in sourcing for key businesses for our hotel partners and clients. Her working knowledge of groups and conferences will benefit in bidding the right business and match them with the respective clients. 

  

Jan has worked at Christchurch Convention Bureau, The Regent, Millenium Hotels and Resort and Starwood Hotels and Resort. She now joins GSA Hospitality to be the Australian and New Zealand Global sales representation team for Luxury and Independent hotels, lodges and resorts.

 Working in hospitality is second nature to David having started in the hotel and tourism sector in 1987 after moving from Perth to Melbourne. Since then David’s career has moved upwards and outwards gathering knowledge and experience in all aspects within this industry.

 

Having had initial hotel operations experience in Front Office and Food & Beverage, this elevated David’s move into management of all aspects of Sales and Marketing. His handling of business negotiations in Corporate, Wholesale, Leisure and the Meetings, Events and Incentives markets assisted in his leadership skills to secure new business. David actively organized and participated in numerous Trade Shows and Exhibitions. He also mastered On-Line Distribution and Revenue Management and was collectively responsible and instrumental in the hotel’s profitability and success. 

 

David has worked both on property and in a regional capacity as Director with Grand Hotels International, Regent Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Starwood, Saville and The Shangri-La Group.

 

David was also elected to the Board of the then AIA, Australasian Incentive Association by his peers, 3 years running. He has 33 years behind him, and I am sure another 33 years ahead.

 

Culinary experimentation and entertaining, Horticulture, The Arts and Humanities are David’s personal hobbies and interests. 

Consultant - Business Development - Asia Pacific - Christina Spykerman

Responsible for  Hotel Partnerships

 A veteran in the hospitality industry, with more than 30 years in the Sales & Marketing, Christina has worked in various capacities on property, in regional office and at corporate level for Luxury, Chain and Independent hotels. 

 

She started her hotel career in 1984 at the then Hyatt Regency Singapore as a Sales Executive, doing key account management focusing major corporates and their loyalty programmes. In 1993, she moved to a Regional office setup as Director of Sales, Lee Gardens Int’l. From there on, Christina held various senior roles in Millennium & Copthorne Int’l, Star Cruises and OAG.

  

In 2005 she joined Worldhotels as Senior Director of Sales for Asia Pacific and took on responsibility for sales and marketing, growing the business, bringing in major Consortia and FFP partnerships for the region to increase brand awareness and reach and drive incremental sales. Under her leadership and focused approach towards sales, marketing and revenue growth, a further 4 sales offices were added to the original 4 and she assumed responsibility as VP, Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific late 2012. Christina then accepted the role to head the region as Executive Vice President in February 2017 which was her last tenure before her departure close to the end of 2019.

Industry veteran with over 20 years of working experience with Airlines and Hotels. Lisa has a wide range of skill sets, including Operations, Sales, Key Account Management, Business Development, Integrated Marketing, Budgeting and Profit Optimisation. 

One of Lisa's key strengths is her knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand market and her connection with key industry influencers and decision makers.
